Thanks to Josh for these notes!
(The “savage prisoner” is who is later named Friday by Robinson Crusoe)
Crusoe reflects on many things in his life
His “original sin” to his father
How he would escape from the island to the mainland
How lucky he was that he never fell into the hands of the cannibals
What would happen if he did fall into the cannibals' hands
Crusoe has a dream
Saw two canoes and eleven savages on the shore
The savage they were going to eat ran away
Hid right in front of Crusoe's fortification
Crusoe shows himself to the savage who becomes his slave
Crusoe thinks now he can get to the mainland because he has someone to be a pilot
After dream Crusoe decides he can only escape this island if he gets a savage
Watched for them for a long time
Savages come to island
After one and a half years five canoes and no less than thirty savages came to island
The second savage they planned to eat ran with three of the savages following him
The prisoner savage was faster than the three following him
The prisoner savage crossed a creek
One savage following the prisoner savage couldn't swim and didn't follow any more
So two savages following the savage prisoner
Crusoe comes and knocks one of the savages with his club and shoots the other with his gun
Savage prisoner becomes Crusoe's slave
The savage prisoner takes Crusoe's sword
He slices off the head of the savage who Crusoe had knocked down with his club
Savage prisoner buries the two dead savages who were following him
Crusoe gives the savage prisoner food and he falls asleep
